KEYNOTE SPEAKER: STEVE ROCKWOOD
Manager of People & Process Support Worldwide Support Division, Family and Church History Department The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Steve Rockwood lives in Arvada , CO with his wife and four sons. Before joining the Family and Church History department two years ago, Steve worked for over 15 years in the call center industry where he created domestic and international call center services for several Fortune 500 companies including Sears, MasterCard, Disney, Office Depot, Levis Strauss, Citibank, AT&T, etc. Steve is co-founder of Alpine Access, a very unique call center company in Golden, CO that currently employs over 2,500 home-based call center agents. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BA from BYU.
Steve will give us an inside look into how the Church is creating a global, multi-lingual family history support network that provides a whole new level of training and assistance to family history consultants, family history centers and community users. He will focus on those areas where he has direct responsibility and will explain how we can each participate in the following exciting and unprecedented global initiatives:
- The recent launch of telephone support throughout the world now available in over 90 countries
- The recent creation of new service opportunities where volunteers can provide online and on-the-phone product and research support to a worldwide audience all from the comfort of their own homes
- The recent introduction of new online family history support training to family history centers, consultants and research support volunteers worldwide
- The upcoming benefits of the new FamilySearch.org
- The plans of building a global research support community, where ultimately each one of us will be able to gain answers for our specific research questions from subject matter experts around the globe
